Los Angeles Avengers: Donations and Appearance Request Guidelines

MISSION STATEMENT: The Los Angeles Avengers are dedicated to enriching the lives of the youth and families of Southern California. Members of the Avengers family, from the coaching staff and players to the front office, are determined to "make a difference" in the surrounding community. The Los Angeles Avengers public relations department strives to facilitate interaction between the team and the community it serves and is committed to promoting diversity, teamwork and a sense of understanding among the residents of Los Angeles and surrounding counties. Through the programs it administers and supports throughout the year, the Avengers public relations department aspires to create and maintain a bond with the local community, while contributing to its development and progress.

The following procedures and guidelines are designed to assist you with your donation or appearance request, specifically as it relates to involvement by the Los Angeles Avengers.

Nonprofit organizations may apply for inclusion in the "Turf Dreams" ticket program, which involves the donation of approximately 1,000 tickets per home game to local charities, schools and churches throughout the season. ("Turf Dreams" is a unique charity opportunity for individuals or corporations to purchase blocks of tickets that in turn are donated to local charities by the Los Angeles Avengers.)

Elementary and middle schools may apply to participate in the "Stay in the Game to A.C.H.I.E.V.E." program, with which the Avengers strive to encourage and positively influence students. (The "Stay in the Game to A.C.H.I.E.V.E." program rewards students for their achievements with two complimentary tickets to a Los Angeles Avengers home game at STAPLES Center. Categories include: good attendance, straight A's, improving grades and the "Ninth-Man Award." Avenger players and coaches will facilitate this message to local schools by making personal appearances.)

Applications from nonprofit organizations are accepted year-round for "Turf Dreams." Registration for the "Stay in the Game to A.C.H.I.E.V.E." program ends in early December, preceding the upcoming season. Please adhere to the following guidelines if you are interested in participating.

Donation Request Guidelines:

  1. All donation requests must be submitted in writing on original nonprofit organizational letterhead at least six weeks in advance of your event.
  2. Your nonprofit organization must be a 501(c)(3) charity, school or church. We cannot accept donations that would benefit a specific individual or family. We focus our donations on nonprofit and charitable groups.
  3. Due to dozens of requests each week, the fulfillment process can be lengthy. Please be patient.
  4. Written requests must include:
    • Formal request letter on official letterhead
    • Organization name, full address and telephone number
    • Organization mission statement
    • Verification of 501(c)(3) status (Federal Tax ID)
    • Type of fundraising event/program
    • Contact person name, full address and telephone number
    • If for the "Turf Dreams" program, please include number of tickets requested
  5. Please mail written requests to:
    Vincent Trotter
    Public Relations Coordinator
    Los Angeles Avengers
    12100 W. Olympic Blvd., Suite 400
    Los Angeles, CA 90064
  6. The Los Angeles Avengers must approve use of the Los Angeles Avengers name, logo and trademarks and/or any advertising that implies the support or sponsorship of an event by the Los Angeles Avengers or the Arena Football League, in writing.
  7. Requests for monetary donations will not be accepted.

Appearance Request Guidelines
The Los Angeles Avengers handle player, coach, "A-Team" dancer and "T.D." mascot appearance requests for charitable events in the Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and Ventura Counties. It is highly recommended that your event not center on the anticipation of involvement by the Los Angeles Avengers. Instead, the involvement should be approached as a complimentary element to your program because many requests are unable to be fulfilled due to the amount of requests received.

Player Availability

Please keep in mind that many of the Avenger players live outside of the Los Angeles area during the offseason (June through January).
